Enhanced Customer Experience
Nestled in nature and equipped with a wide range of services, a campsite presents numerous management challenges. To enhance the guest experience and benefit the campsite itself, a major campsite in southern France has introduced RFID technology.
How has it been used?
In collaboration with the end customer, a custom Mini-Card NFC Tag was designed to provide maximum comfort for campsite guests during their stay. The chosen format is a durable PVC badge measuring 27 x 55 mm, featuring holes for attaching a strap, allowing it to also be used as a bracelet.
Upon arrival, each guest receives a personal tag, which is uniquely associated with their profile in the campsite’s management system and configured with access to services based on the selected vacation package.
The main advantages of using this RFID transponder are access control and digital payments.
The system allows Mini-Card holders to access specific areas of the campsite, such as swimming pools or play areas, as well as to activate showers or gas bottles at pitches or cabins. This is achieved by simply bringing their tag close to the reader at designated stations. Additionally, the parking gates have been automated with an RFID system that permits opening only for tags configured for this service.
Regarding payments, guests are given the option to manage transactions within the campsite’s facilities directly using the Mini-Card in a simple and secure manner. Through an application, it is possible to load a monetary amount onto the RFID card, which then functions as a true credit card, allowing vacationers to leave their wallets in the safe.
With the introduction of this RFID Tag, the campsite has been able to offer guests the comforts needed to fully enjoy their stay, while the campsite management has efficiently addressed the challenges of operations.
