WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS OPTIMIZATION

BENEFITS

Reduction of human intervention and resulting errors

Improved warehouse item traceability

Reduction of loading, unloading, and handling

In the field of logistics, RFID technology has been implemented to constantly monitor the location and traceability of goods stored in the warehouse.

How to Improve Warehouse Organization Through RFID?

To better address these challenges, a rubber roll manufacturing company has introduced the use of printable labels in UHF frequencies 860-960Mhz and T-Rexy Tags, which are RFID On-Metal Tags in ABS

The labels were fully customized based on the specific needs of the end customer, in a 100x190mm paper format. They are applied with a strong permanent adhesive to individual rubber rolls using an automatic applicator. These labels are optimal for ensuring reading distances of up to 10 meters and for their printable surface, on which various information is included (barcode, product description, product code, production lot, and unique serial number).

The T-Rexy Tags, designed to be applied to both metallic and non-metallic objects, were placed at strategic points within the warehouse to approximately define the location of the rubber rolls. They were also applied to individual pallets to accurately associate the rubber rolls (thanks to the RFID labels) with the pallet itself. This Tag was chosen for its robustness, the presence of a 3mm sponge, and the extra-strong 3M adhesive, making it ideal for positioning on irregular surfaces. Additionally, the presence of two mounting holes ensures greater stability.

Thanks to the custom-developed UHF RFID system, which can be mounted on the forklift as needed, it is possible to achieve accurate identification of the stored contents and a complete inventory of the goods in the warehouse. This results in a 90% reduction in time.
